A Response to Billy
A couple of quick notes today:
First of all, I am so glad Billy has finally seen the light! He and I have been arguing about Taylor Hicks since the beginning of this season's "American Idol." I loved Taylor since the very first episode when they showed him at auditions and I KNEW he would make it all the way to the finals. Billy had his doubts and said Taylor was a Vegas act (which, by the way, I don't think people can continue to use that negatively... two of the best singers on this planet, Celine Dion and Elton John are Vegas acts). Billy went to "American Idol" last night and now, after seeing Taylor perform in person and hearing the crowd's reaction, Billy says he gets it.
I always say be real, be yourself, and people will feel your genuineness... that is Taylor and that is why people are attracted to him. At the beginning, Taylor was not the "cool" one to choose, but now, I have a feeling many will be jumping on his bandwagon... whether he wins tonight or not. You can't help but smile when watching Taylor perform, and gosh darnit, don't you just wanna pinch those big ole cheeks of his'!
As for my second note of the day: It is in response to Billy's Blog about Vince Vaughn. Billy wrote, "One final thing about Vince... as he mounted the steps to my platform at the premiere, I stopped him on the last one. At 6'5", I wondered if he'd be interested in doing the interview eye-to-eye. He obliged acknowledging he is "circus tall." Now, if only Nancy would do the same."
My response to Billy: Billy, you know I love you dearly and would do anything for you, so bring in the platform you had at the premiere... oh wait a minute, you are already wearing platforms!!! I tease, I tease. I am 5'9", not circus tall -- but yes, tall for a woman. Billy is just under my height and that height makes him cute. Side note: Billy can add a full inch if he poofs his hair up.
And another little secret to the viewers, if you look carefully, you will see I wear flat flip-flops every day on the show disguised by long pants... unless I'm with Tony or Tim who are both 6'2", then I roll out the high heels and skirts. But then, Tony gets mad because he says it makes him look the same height as Billy.
Ugh, a girl can't win for trying!
I have to say I voted fot Taylor knowing he would never be a Kelly or Underwood. He has from day one captued my heart and it is very unfortunate we don't hear him on the radio more than we do. He was and always will be one of my favorite American Idols. By the way, what is up with the guys this year? They just do not compare to the girls at all. Maybe it is just me, I don't know. I am no one to judge a singing contest but the girls, a couple to point out, give me goose bumps. None of the guys do that for me. This is the first time I have blogged anything so I don't know if I wil get a response, but maybe someone else agrees with me.
AI fan,
Steph
I agree with the comment above. None of the guys sing well as the previous years. The girls are much better and it looks like a girl will this year. Let's hope someone talented will win. =].
