Baby Talk With Jeremy Piven
Well I'm taking a little heat in the blogosphere (which leads to some radio) for the Jeremy Piven interview at the NBC Emmy Red Carpet Special. Whoops.
If you don't know my history with Piven (and who would), it looks like he's repulsed by my line of questioning. I watched it on Tivo last night... I can see that. I asked Jeremy first if he had seen baby Violet since he is working on a movie with Jen Garner now....he said "no." I asked him if he'd seen baby Shiloh since he lives in Malibu, home of Brad and Angie... knowing he'd say "no." I finished with Suri just in case he wasn't on the ledge yet. He commented that I have potential as a human being... good one. Funny, sarcastic and a jab between friends.
People are saying I ticked him off and there was tension. I'm sorry, I have to laugh.
Piven is a bachelor in his 40's!! Babies are not his favorite topic. We are friends and I knew he'd hate it. In a man's world, that's expressing affection. Problem is, the red carpet is not a man's world.
But... people have come to expect the very worst from the entertainment genre. That my line of questioning for Jeremy can ONLY be taken literally and without the "wink" is scary. For Entertainment 101 questions like "You look amazing!!!" (is that a question'), I'm not your guy, but there are way too many places to get that... I am a bit risky by nature, therefore, I will continue to take my hits along the way.
BTW, I just hung up the phone with Jeremy. He's shooting "Entourage" episode 19 today and then jetting back to Arizona to continue on "The Kingdom." I told him about this Blog... he laughed and told me to 'hush' so I wouldn't wake up Shiloh.
