Down, But Not Out!
At least through email, I can let my voice be heard. Otherwise, it would be impossible because I have a bad case of laryngitis. Boy, a cold and cough really got me this time. I had a week's vacation and at the tail end, I caught a cough and cold. I came back to work last week on Monday and then Tuesday, boom, I woke up with no voice. It started coming back and I got brave and decided it was okay to talk with a raspy voice.
Let this be a lesson learned. It is NOT okay to try and talk when your vocal chords are sending you a clear sign that they need a rest. I went to the doctor and he put me on complete voice rest for two days...he told me, "Nancy, I mean it...literally, not a word....not even a whisper." (By the way, I learned whispering is bad for your vocal chords too.) So, I am going around with a pen and pad in my hand. When you are used to using your voice so much, even as your profession, it is tough to stay quiet.
Plus, I am Southern and long-winded... so it is not easy to write out everything I need to convey. But the cough is getting better and I am sure my vocal chords are too. Funny, you always think a two and a half week vacation would be the most wonderful thing. I got it by accident and I am chomping at the bit to get back. Guess I love what I do cause I am missing the action while missing in action. I go back to the doctor today and I am expecting to get my hall pass to come back to work this week...hopefully, tomorrow! See you soon!
After all, the Emmy's are this Sunday and Billy and I will be hosting NBC's arrivals special which begins at 7PM ET... tune in for all the action!! See you soon!
Hello Nancy I have a question for you. I was watching the show last night, 3-23-09, and I liked your black tank top with stones on the front. Wondering where I would be able to order something similar? Thanks so much!!!
