The Buzz About Britney
I woke up yesterday morning to the sound of a chainsaw outside my window. The neighbor across the street clearly felt it was appropriate to begin the tree trimming at 7:30am.
Defeated, I rolled over to cozy up to my beloved blackberry. As soon as I turned it on, it started vibrating like crazy-tons of emails were there with the word "Britney" in the subject line. 'Oh no' I thought....what now?
One of the emails contained a play-by-play account of Britney's night...details like how she was crying in her car before entering the hair salon. She shaved her head and the photo looks surprisingly good.... although one gets the feeling it wasn't a glamour move.
Most of the emails were back and forth from our producers as we prepare for Monday’s show. Our coverage is already very detailed and aggressive with all the key players in this melodrama on camera.
I sent one email to our senior staff. This is what it read:
"I am struck with the sadness of this event. This is a young woman in pain.... feels like she is not physically or mentally safe at this point and I think we should consider that heavily as we take our actions."
I don't know if this is true, but that's the way it feels to me. As our competition reportedly spends millions of dollars propelling the Anna Nicole story by lining the pockets of its assorted players, I urge that we use restraint while missing nothing. We love a big story because it means big viewership and ratings, but I do not want any "blood on our hands" in any way. There is nothing to celebrate here and I will pray for Britney and her children.
Maybe, she's fine and just went for a wild haircut. But, I don't think so.
If it’s any consolation, I think her haircut looks pretty good.

Why isn't she helping her daughter? She obviously needs guidance.
Britney needs lots of help and great support from the people who love her. She certainly does not need anymore censure or our derision.
oh my..this girl is going through something..she has totally lost control of herself and is trying to figure out who she is. What about her children? The rate she is going, Kevin will gain custody of them. Hopefully her family will help her because what we see (us non-celeb types), we see someone whom has went for a pretty young lady to a trashy, unkept young lady. Someone please help her!
Britney looks surprisingly good without hair. She had no hair, and barely had makeup. I saw the pretty girl she really was underneath those extensions. Sadly, it also revealed the sadness in her eyes.
I am hoping she just wanted a wild haircut too. If that is the case, then more power to you sister! Sadly, I don't think it is the case.
Billy, good of you to think of Britney's well-being. I understand that people in the media are sometimes faced with hard decisions.
I sure hope the "competition" doesn't treat this story like the Anna Nicole story. Unlike Anna Nicole, Britney is alive - Irresponsible media coverage can hurt her, and maybe even cause her to spiral even more.
FORMER CHILD STAR ON MELTDOWN....
I noticed that Brit wasn't at the Grammys- either as a guest in the Hall or as a performer- because of her behavior lately? Despite all this wild publicity, she doesn't seem to be making any money. Last tour was what, three years ago? All the jetting around and partying, paying hangers-on, designer clothes, maybe paying Kevin a settlement-she's going through money like water! I hope her family steps in and takes Brit and the babies back to Louisiana. Pay cash for a house and talk Brit into taking college classes! She needs to be away from show business for awhile! She still has her talent and maybe a future in show business, but with all this scandal, how will she get gigs?
Brittney is not the first celebrity to go bald and will not be the last, but she may be smarter then the media is giving her credit for. I can only think of 2 reasons why she did it, which no one has mentioned. 1. Brittney has been partying a lot lately and she is in the middle of a divorce. Should the judge order a drug test (in a custody case) any drugs she might have done, show up in YOUR HAIR! The only way out of that one is to shave. It may be dramatic, but the smartest way to go. (PS: To Brittney...it means you have to stay clean and keep shaving for a least a month). 2. She had a case of head lice, which has become an epidemic worldwide. Forget about all that poison you have to take to get rid of them, the fastest way out of that nightmare is to shave it all off, especially if you have kids and they didn't bring them home to you. This way you save the family a NIGHTMARE. Brittney shaving your head is the most liberating experience you will ever have and a chance to start anew...use it well and by the way you look fabulous and your hair will grow back!
Honestly, I was so upset when I saw that Brit shaved her head. I just feel bad that she is going through so much right now. I just hope she is taking care of her children. Even if she never makes another album... just take care of children and enjoy being a mother.

First of all, who the hell are any of you people to pass judgement on Britney? As if any one of you is perfect!
This is her life, her body, and her hair. If she wants to shave off her hair because she is tired of it then it is her own business and none of your nosy people's. Do you seriously have nothing better to do in your own lives than to spend your time calling Britney 'crazy', 'unstable' and 'out of control'?
GET A LIFE PEOPLE! And that includes all of you media people. All of you have hounded her for years, scrutinizing every move she makes, every piece of clothing she wears, and every morsel of food she puts into her mouth. And when she is sick and tired of all of you and has finally had it with being shadowed at every step and wants some peace to do what she wants, you have the audacity to call her names? Shame on you! All of you! You are the ones who are freaks and unstable if your entire existance revolves around reporting or hearing about Britney's life on TV, radio, and your rag sheets every second of the day. Why don't you leave her alone for a change and attend to your own pathetic lives.
I have never been a fan of Britney and do not appreciate the example she sets.
However, as a mom, my heart breaks for this poor wretch of a girl who is obviously headed for a nervous breakdown. She needs help and guidance right now or she will loose those 2 precious boys of hers.
Unlike Paris, Nicole, Lindsay and Anna Nicole (God rest her soul), Britney has a conscious. She knows right from wrong or she wouldn't be acting out this way. She knows what she's doing is wrong but doesn't know what to do about it. Those others don't seem to care a whit about themselves - they thrive on self gratification.
I hope that Britney's mom steps in along with Brit's true friends and gets her the help she needs.
We should all sympathize with Britney because all of us at one time or another have felt overwhelmed by things going on in our lives. Its time to give her a brake and let her deal with her problems on her own. Watching her every step will only make things harder for her to deal with and take care of. We need to have compassion and realize that she is human like the rest of us.
i think brittany has lost her damn mind. her kids are suffering. while she acts like an idiot. i think all the attention has been on anna nicole smith case and brit was'nt getting any attention, so to get some she does somthing stupid as to shave her head. I heard that your hair can hold negative that you have came across. i think it is good that she shaved it off and starting new and refreshed. We need to leave her alone so she can heal, and come back big and better than ever. Having childern that close in age is really hard on a women. I would know having 3 babies in 4 years. Lets let her have her space so she can heal!!!!
I am glad britney finally gave in and went to rehab. I think she would have been in more trouble if she hadn't. I have to commend acess hollywood for not looking at britney's troubles and rehab as ratings and money and not doing what the other shows are doing.
Britney should be thankful for all that she has been blessed with, and stop being such a brat.
The kind of life she has can't be all that bad, she just needs to make better decisions, take charge of her life, and basically GROW UP!!!!
Everyone needs to let Britney be. She has been through so much as a young adult and has handled it very well up until latley. She has had to grow up very fast and I believe as a child psychologist she was doing what she needed to do to raise her children. The public just needs to let her get through this time of struggle on her own without blame and judgement. Being in the public eye is something that the majority of us don't understand. I support her 100% and wish the best for her recovery and the best for her children. I think that Keven Ferline will step up and support her as a lover and as the mother or his children and I believe we as the public should let them be. They have a lot of work to do, not only in their marriage but in the raising of thier children and at this point that is what they need to work on. I truly feel bad for all the people that believe all of what the media says. They seem to be very loving and caring people and who are we to say how the constant media attention plays a toll; on a day to day life. All I ask is that we as the public give her the benifit of a dought even though I can't spell. She is young and doing what she knows best. Let her do that and just be a mother and a wife if that is what she chooses. We as the public need to LET IT GO and let her make her decisions without our constant negative judgement. That is all I have to say even though it was alot. I just feel bad for the girl.

Hello - I was out last night with some friends and, as your so in the news again - we started to talk about you.
And you know what? None of think your fat! None of think you've ruined your career - None of us think any of the bad things the media is saying are true or absolute -- Absolutely annoying sure! Absolute Crap! Ya!
But we do think that you are unhappy.... that you have been betrayed by people you have loved... and that it cannot have been an easy road for you!
Little Girls the world over want to be YOU! Boys everywhere (and probably a lot of dirty old men too) dream about you!
