Haley's Scarnato's Idol Dreams Didn't Have Legs
As if being voted off last night wasn't bad enough, Haley Scarnato was bombarded with questions this morning about her legs and her choice to wear those short, shorts. Speaking in a conference call to reporters, it was clear the subject was not something Haley really wanted to discuss. Twice she mentioned that she just had to brush off those nasty Simon Cowell comments, "It's just legs. It is what it is. It's legs. I don't even know what to say about it. It's frustrating. You can't please everybody."
So, did she purposely wear those leg enhancing shorts since Simon made the comments the prior weeks about her having nice legs? Seems like the powers that be behind the scenes had a hand in making sure she did, "Well, you get so much feedback and they were kind of like keep it." Just as I suspected.
Unfortunately, the move seemed to backfire on her when Simon commented that her strategy was to keep wearing less and less clothes. Haley didn't see the problem with it, "I didn't think it was going to be that distracting. They are just shorts and I had a great stylist who thought it was great." Someone did make a good point that many pop singers wear outfits like this and no one says word one. Haley finally lightened up on the subject and joked, "If I was going to be here next week I was going to wear a choir robe. I was going to be fully clothed."
So, far this season Simon has spoken to all the Top 12 contestants voted off after the show, except Haley. Could he not face her, did he not like her? I'm wondering.
Ok, moving on from the legs, Haley says the toughest part of the competition that surprised her was song selection. She didn't know it would be as tough as it was to clear songs and it affected her a lot. Many of her original choices were not available. Being from Texas, not surprisingly she was looking forward to being mentored by Martina McBride and was upset to find she wouldn't get to sing during Country Music Week.
At least now she can focus on her upcoming wedding in San Antonio, TX. Wedding plans were put on hold while she was on AMERICAN IDOL but she already has her dress. She did have to move the original date of November 10th back a few months because of the Idol tour schedule.
Oh wait, back to the legs...I wanted to ask her if maybe a Leggs, Hanes, Bali or a Nair endorsement could be in her future but ran out of time. I even put a call into the company who produces Nair to put a bug in their ear about maybe hiring Haley for a commercial. I'll see her tomorrow though and see what she has to say about this.
