Paris The Role Model?
Last night as I went to bed in my soft big bed, I couldn't help but think of Paris Hilton and her family...honestly.
Soon she'll be adjusted and comfortable... The fears of prison life behind her, a whole band of prisoners having pledged their devotion to the ways of 'Hilty'. But for this moment, she was a 26 year old, child of tremendous privilege in a 12' x 8' cell trying to sleep. She is not a model citizen. In my opinion, the constant attention her antics attract, are worth shielding your children from. (Yes, my children do not watch my own show).
But these first few nights have got to be gutting, lonely, scary and accompanied by all sorts of "commitments" to become a different person.
I bet Paris is a truly sweet young woman right now. She is stripped of all her securities and relying solely on herself. I imagine she is at her most humble.
If THAT girl re-enters society later in the month and maintains it, she could be a role model yet.
I am a conflicted man, and thankfully, I'm not the final word on this show's content. But last night, we had a big night of ratings thanks indeed to 'Hilty's" weekend which was capped by checking in to the slammer. Tonight, the Hilty update will supercede Brad Pitt and Clooney on the show. Do we all need our heads examined?
Maybe, but the viewers decide a big night of ratings.
Everyone says this will humble Paris. I am not that optimistic. She will get back into her privilaged life and back to her old ways...maybe not her old law breaking ways but definitely holding her nose in the air and oblivious to what goes on in the real world. She should take some lessons from Angelina. Angelina is the same age as me and I am in awe of her transformation into such an incredible woman. Angie was once a bad girl caught up in her own whirlwind of a life not too long ago...but I don't think you will ever see Paris Hilton heading to a third world country and genuinely making a difference....can you humble a hilton?
I can't help but think about the millions of other people who have been in her position. I'm sure they cried themselves to sleep each night and refused to eat at first. She needs to get over it. She is not special. She committed a crime, was given more chances than most, and has been given a shorter sentence than most. I don't see anybody asking the "normal" inmates how they feel about being locked up. Truth be told, I think the best thing for Paris would be if the media completely ignored her. Then she might actually have to think about her actions instead of how best to manipulate the world.
Paris Hilton is a waste of space! She has no purpose in life and should not be a role model or really anyone we even care to hear about on TV. What has she done to make a difference? Let's all move on and talk about something that matters.
What a crock! I don't know who is worse - Paris or her poor excuse for parents - that she is walking away from this to her familiar lifestyle at home is ridiculous. What happens to other inmates who have medical problems in jail? We all know. I am so sick of her and Lindsay and Brittany. It may put me off AH all together.
Drunk drivers just got hope from what happen because of this. Paris Hilton and house arrest is like saying go on vacation for 40 days. Our young people are watching thing and saying(If I get caught nothing won't happen because Paris got a free pass)Sadly she was released because of two things. One because she is rich and her last name is Hilton.. THIS IS A SAD DAY
I am truly disgusted with the decision to let this tramp out of jail. All I can say is, good job Paris' mom, you raised such an upstanding citizen to the community. You should be ashamed of yourself and of the garbage you raised. Please boycott any and all things related to Paris and the sick Hilton family. They all deserve to go down...way down!!!
Paris is a spoilt rich brat! And the system sucks! If it were the poor man sent to jail he would probably die in there. Come on America where is the justice!
I don't understand your concept of Paris Hilton.... All I have to say is that you are a celebrity and you would probably want the same justice that she has. While many other Americans serve time behind bars she gets her own home, which is not justice.... It disgust me and I hope that for this act for sending her home with an ankle bracelet, she'll be serving her full term this time. By the time she's done she'll be back in Vegas,LA,or Nyc partying it up and laughing about her sentence.
It's an OUTRAGE...
Was Paris Medical condition
withdraw from not using
a cell phone and not been able to be the center of attention in a party?
What message does this send to other RICH SPOIL HOLLYWOOD KIDS, you can break the LAW
and it's OK.
At this rate she will be PARTYING in the comfort of her own SPACIOUS HOME and she has not learn her lesson.
What PARIS needs to been shown by his parents and others is some TOUGHT LOVE not been a SPOIL RICH BRAT!!
I don't know if I agree. Now that Paris was resentenced to jail, although at the moment in a treatment facility, I am hoping this to be a wake up call to her. SHe does not need to donate to charities to be a good person, but she should just be a good person and not turn her nose up at people. She should strive to be a role model for our young girls. ANd hopefully this will teach the famous that they are not aboe the law.
I do want to point out that I do feel bad for her and do not feel that her punishment was a just one by any means. It was too harsh and undeserved. To make a point out of a young 26 year olds expense in unjust. There are many 26 year olds that go out and party when they are single and have the option to do so, the only difference, is they are not followed by a camera.
How dare that woman commenting about "the Lindseys, Parises and Brittneys" being Princess Diana wannabes. Their names should not even be used in the same sentence as hers. How could any young adult (and I use the term adult very loosely) whose only contribution to society is acting, singing and I guess standing there and trying to look pretty, ever compare to the great accomplishments that Diana so devotingly gave the world. It's this type of media hype that belittles and degrades the integrity of truly great people and boosts the image of those who can only pretend by way of their celebrity talent, that they actually have something to contribute to humanity and this world in which we live. Very sad.
