Well, I'm back from a nice long two-week vacation, which included a glorious eight days in Hawaii. You realize how little most people care about train wreck celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton when you leave Hollywood. I had not heard their names uttered one time. Of course it helped that I ignored the tabloid magazines and entertainment shows and chose to leave the TV off most of the time.

I did however spend a little time catching up on "Friday Night Lights" via my iPod on the airplane. I've had so many TV critics and other folks force-feeding me hype about how "great" and "well-written" the show is. I like it. It's interesting but I'm pretty sure most of these critics are men. It must be the football element that gets them. Either it's a way to relive their glory days or ponder what it might have been like had they made the team. It's not the best written show on television by any stretch of the imagination. It's a solid show with extremely watchable actors. If anyone wants to challenge me and further what the critics think, I'd be interested to hear why this show has such a cult following.

I've just finished reading all the comments I've gotten about "High School Musical 2." You have all made me chuckle. I wish I could take you all with me to the Disneyland premiere (which I have learned is on August 14th, not the 15th as previously mentioned). Somehow I'm going to guess that this would not be allowed by team legal as it might pose some type of security issue. The red carpet will be setup in Downtown Disney just outside the AMC Theater. This means you don't have to buy a ticket to actually go to Disneyland to try and see the festivities. I'm sure thousands of fans will line up to catch a glimpse of the stars from roped off areas. So, if you live in the LA area you might try that, but be sure and get there early. The screening starts at 6pm, which means the cast will probably hit the red carpet around 5pm. If you can't be there live and in person then you can at least feel like you are there. As of right now AccessHollywood.com is planning on streaming the premiere live on the 14th. More details to come soon on that. Also be sure and check out our brand new "High School Musical 2" landing page that has exclusive interviews and other fun stuff.

I just finished watching the film's EPK (electronic press kit). This is what the studios send out to media and online outlets with interviews, behind the scenes footage and movie clips. If you watch a fair amount of Disney Channel than I'm sure you have seen much of this footage already. Just in case you haven't I’ll give you a breakdown of what I saw. There is lots of behind the scenes rehearsal footage of some of the many dance sequences. At one point the dancers and cast are sitting on the floor in almost like a seated conga line dance. I learned while I was up in St. George, Utah on the set that this part of the song "What Time is It" came about when the choreographers saw the kids give each other backrubs back to back.

As you know, Troy and Gabriella never kissed in the first film. Well, it looks Kenny Ortega is going to play with the audience this time around. There is a clip where Troy is talking to Gabriella at her locker and he presents her with a necklace (T for Troy). Just as they are about to kiss they are interrupted not once but twice and it never happens.

The soundtrack will hit stores on August 14th. There was a sneak peek at several of the new songs like Sharpay's "Fabulous." As she lounges by the pool in her pink cover up she sings, "Iced tea imported from England. Lifeguards imported from Spain. Towels imported from Turkey. Turkey imported from Maine." That pool seemed way smaller when I was on set. It looks huge in the film, especially when the entire cast gathers to sing "All for One," an anthem similar to HSM's "We're All In This Together."

By far my favorite tune is "I Don't Dance" (which is odd considering I must have listened to snippets of it 100 times the day it was being filmed) where Ryan and Chad challenge each other to prove that uptight Ryan can learn to play baseball and jock Chad can learn to dance. I promise you and your kids will not be able to get this song out of your head come August 17th.

Just to make you all a little more jealous, Access Hollywood will be getting a private screening for employees and their kids on Thursday. I'll have my review for you on Friday.

Hey Laura,

Glad to hear your vacation went well. I went to Hawaii last year and had a blast.

But it's not cool teasing us readers that Access Hollywood is getting a sneak peak. JK, still love you and your "dish". I live in LA and was planning on going to the premiere, even if you couldn't take me, but I'm still contemplating fighting through a crowd of kids. I'm 19, but on the shorter side. I went to the Hairspray premiere, and it was a tough crowd.

I can't wait for your review of the movie. Hopefully it's a good one.

Thanks for the Premiere information. I've been playing phone tag with the Disneyland Resort trying to figure out whether or not you needed a ticket or something to that extent to be there.

So when's that Vanessa story you wrote about in your last blog going to be posted?

I'm excited for that =]
