'Dancing' Stars React to Britney Spears News
Well, it was only a matter of time. I've become one of them. Yesterday, in a meeting before my "Dancing With the Stars" shoot a group of producers here talked about whether or not it was appropriate to ask the dancers what their thoughts were on Britney losing custody of her children. I felt it was in poor taste being that it's such a tragic situation. I mentioned I knew "the other shows" would not hesitate to ask. So, we decided we would take the high road and not ask. An hour later I received an email that minds were changed and we do need to ask about Britney. My stomach dropped as I thought about how I was going to approach this touchy subject.
Flipping through the channels in my car, on the way to the studio, all I heard on every radio station between songs was people talking about Britney Spears. Everyone had an opinion. Everyone had a theory. So, maybe asking this intrusive question wasn't so terrible. I gingerly approached the celebrities who are parents themselves. The only one who shot me down with the look of death was Mel B, who clearly had already been asked by other outlets because I barely got the question out when she sniped, "I am not commenting on Britney because it is none of my business."
Wayne Newton, who has two daughters of his own, told me his heart went out to Britney, "There could be nothing worse in life than, than number one ending up in a court situation and number two having your children taken away. However, it is not something that she cannot recover from. She is immensely talented. She is immensely bright. She's just having a tough time now and now is when the character will come out one way or the other. "
Marie Osmond has eight children and herself has gone through a divorce and custody issues, "She must be sobbing at home right now I mean what mother wouldn't."
Jennie Garth, already emotional from the spill she took with her dance partner Derek Hough told me, "My heart goes out to her. I hope that she gets her act together and I want her to get those kids back because kids belong with their mommy."
I think Mark Cuban (who is my prediction to go home tonight) put it best, "When you become a parent for the first time there is no manual. There is no book. There is nothing you can follow. You just follow your heart and do the best you can and sometimes you don't always do the right thing and hopefully things will come around and they will be able to figure it all out."
So, why have I become one of them? Well, that's because I was sitting here this morning trying to think of what I was going to write about from backstage. There was Jennie on her fall and the tears that were flowing, Jane on how this is not the first time she has handled a snake, Marie swearing to me that her skirts will go no shorter than what she had on for the Mambo and Cameron Mathison laughing when I told him I found out his nickname was "Snaps" on the set of "All My Children" because his first two years on the show he took his shirt off so much they would only give him shirts with snaps on it. All those things seemed interesting but with Britney dominating the news today, I just decided that the salacious stuff is what people really care about nowadays. Sad but true.
I really don't think that there is anything wrong with Brittany. In fact, I think it is the media who are creating all this drama for Brittany. Also, I believe that her former body guard is just making things about her to get some cash and his 15 minutes of fame! The tabloids need to back off and let Brittany live a peacful life. But then again, if Brittany did want to move away from the choas, she would've moved to some place other than LA! So, in some ways, Brittany is probably asking for all this drama and attention she is getting. She really needs to watch who she is around because friends can be your worst enemy...
I feel terrible for what is going on with Britney. I myself did not expect to hear such a tough demand from the judge. As a fan, I try to see beyond her mistakes meaning, I believe she can still make a comeback. SOmehow I feel as if paparazzi have also had something to do with all this. Recording every step britney makes and turning it into the story of the week and especially her wrong moves is pethetatic. Ridiculous. It's unfair she hasn't been able to breathe without the flashes but they still keep coming. I believe britney will fight through the battle and be victorious. Britney, Hold on to God, your protector and strenght and comforter. He can save you from these moments and strengthen you in the toughest times of your life. Believe u will pull through. I still love u.
Well, knowbody cared that Kevin was out doing the same when he was still with Ms Spears. But that does not excuse the fact that Britney has been using very poor judgement. I personally blame 1.the media for finding the easy headline 2. with Her mother. She is the guilty party here. This is what britney should have used as an example of what not to do.She used her children to get fame and fortune. 3 Those arround her Brit If you read this "FIRE THEM ALL" those are the people that should have kept you grounded. not high, drinking, and driving. The pop star today gets pulled everywhich way and you do rely on others to do everything from write your music, drive you to your shows pick up the check at the restraunts, they get the drugs for you,pay your tickets and wipe your butt for you because they convince you that you are a shooting star or some kind of pop godess. Well guess what girl you are a 25 year old falure for letting other jerks wipe your but for big paychecks. You are buying friends. They wont be true, and those that are will tell you the truth you wont want to here it so you will fire them. Well kido you might have let little satin take your kids. I am handicapped. my daughter is severly only 1/3 of her brain works. She is ten and can only say two or 3 words, docs said she would never walk and might not talk and she does and my wife works her but off all year for what you make in a couple of hours.She is a woman who would never use her kids for profit,After being "layed off from a great job for having a husband and daughter that require a lot of medical attention, She did not hold her own pity party or collect. she found another job. She is a woman I wish you could spend the weekend with. You would know what a mothers love is. when the going gets tough work the problem dont run and hide in a bottle that is a coward.Yes we love each other and our Hannah I will never quit on my little girl and If I do God will Strike me down in a horrible way. Work for your kids The point YOU HAVE 2 HEALTHY KIDS AND YOU ARE LETTING THE SCUM KEVIN get them so he could even get more of your money. Oh, dont get upset when trash silverman dogs you about what you do. IT IS WHAT YOU ARE DOING. Sex is not love, it is what people do or have toofeel good for a few minutes. To reproduce. Show those boys what they mean to you. Dont let them end up like him! You have Talent, a good heart, but just got a little (being polite)askew. Play time is over get off your buty do what you gotta do to keep that monster from making them a user like him. or I assure you you will end up paying him for the rest of your life while he teaches your boys about all the bad mommy is. Get off you butt and go legally get those boys a lawyer. So they can be with the parent that loves them not the one that see's them as a paycheck.

Billy - I appreciate the fact that you don't want to run crappy, trashy stories. Those are SO annoying. I hate them and they turn me off to a show immediately. The say the public wants to see it or is that is what they are showing us. Kind of like what came first: the chicken or the egg?
I am not an avid fan of brittney, but I support her 100%! She needs to get out of the country, and re-think & re-shape her life.
