'Dancing's' Cuban Claims He's Got the "Geek" Vote

Well, you could have fooled me last night. I was convinced that billionaire boy Mark Cuban was going home. I give him props for his spunky attitude but his dancing and his facial expressions need work and lots of it. Instead, it was the curse of the models as cutie Albert Reed was sent packing. Despite that fact that judge Len Goodman called him the dark horse of the competition, even Albert knew it came down to the fact that he had no fan base.

I had the first interview with Albert backstage, last night, who told me the first thing he is doing today is going surfing. He also he filled me in on his future plans, "Well we have been discussing theater and movies for a long time. I have been studying film for quite a while and doing independent films and stuff so hopefully maybe that is my calling, also might do a album."

So Albert can sing? I tried to get him to sing a few bars but he shot me down! Turns out his musical aspirations lie in the country, blues and jazz area.

Back to Mark who I sort of pissed off when I jokingly suggested maybe he paid for a few call centers with some of his billions. He calmly responded, "No money cannot buy you votes but hopefully a big smile and a good routine can."

The reason he says he beat out both Albert and legend Wayne Newton for votes this week comes down to the fact that the nerds of America united, "I will be straight up there were a lot of geeks out there online that were going 'you know what were behind you.' Yeah to the geeks, all the guys, all the bloggers out there all the people online all the people on Facebook, all the people on Myspace, all the people on e-mail. There were thousand of e-mail chains going around. I mean I was in shock they were like 'he is one of us. He is one of us.'

In fact, Mark tells me he started out fixing computers himself and compared himself to NBC's new nerd Hero, "Chuck", " My first couple of jobs out of college I was the guy taking apart your computer trying to pick up on women because I knew how to fix it. Oh you have no idea. I am like the ultimate nerd. If you ever have a computer that is broken I am your guy."

If all this is true, Mark could be sticking around a lot longer than most of us think.

Oh and by the way, I ran into "High School Musical's" Corbin Bleu on Monday night backstage. He was there in support of Sabrina Bryan. He says he would love to do DWTS but he has taken ballroom dance lessons and is pretty sure he would not be allowed on the show. Too bad. He would be great.
