Worn Down By Puppy Love

Comments (9)

My daughters have wore me down... they have done this twice before and that is why we have two cats running around our house.

On Sunday, we have a puppy coming to join our family. I think the girls want to name her Sandy. The name of the breed is too embarrassing to say (it just sounds very emasculating), so I'll say it starts with an "sh" and ends with a "oo."

The truth is my wife is making these moves and using my daughters as deal closers. After all, what kind of dad says 'no' to his 3 excited, little girls over a puppy?

Not this guy.

Now, if I hear any pining for a pet pig, my foot is coming down.

The name of the breed isn't pronounced the way i'ts spelled. For your peace of mind, it's pronounced "sheetzu". Your welcome.

Billy, I think it is just to funny that you let 3 young lady and a grown woman win you over. You will love the puppy after a while, that is until it chews up your favorite slippers. Good luck!!!

I didn't know where or how to post this to you, so I'm trying this. First, I admire what you are doing for the babies! It is truly heartwarming. Second, I thank you for the story about Eric Clapton, having lost my son when I was 9 months sober, I so related to what he said, and I appreciated hearing it, and understanding exactly how he felt. Should you have a chance, please share my sympathy and strength with him for me.
Thank you, and I don't expect this to be printed. I just wanted to say it.

HAHA!

I have 2 daughters myself. I often have to leave masculinity aside to please them. It's overrated anyway - at least that's what I tell myself when I walk our poodle every single day.

Hi, this message is coming from a non-pet lover (ba-hum-bug)...or so I thought until my husband and daughter teamed up on me for a dog. Working full-time and also part-time college student, I did not have the time or patience for anything other than my family. Well, like you, I was worn down and we finally got a gorgeous white husky mixed breed dog. Needless to say, the dog is now MINE and I'm loving her everyday. My family reminds me sometimes that I didn't even want a dog, but that's okay. They mostly remind me when I'm shopping for her or ask if she's been walked today or something like that. She's part of the family now! Thanks for sharing your story with us. I feel so much better now knowing that I'm not "easy" and a "pushover". Love is truly a mysterious thing!

Billy, that story is about as sweet as the CD you made about your daughters awhile back!
I loved it!
You are absolutely adorable!
I would love to pinch your cheeks. :o)

It was so heartwarming!
You are just a big ole sweetie pie!
Take care,

Billy,
The puppy is gorgeous. My mother's standard poodle just had 13 puppies yesterday. They are so cute and she wasn't going to keep one? Well, today she is thinking of keeping the little runt - half the size of the rest.

I have a seven year old boy that is Duck obsessed. At least you weren't convinced to hatch eggs, keep one as a pet and order duck diapers on the internet so it could be a house pet (yes, sleeps in bed with my 7 year old). Don't think I am joking. His name is Max and is a wonderful duck and nice addition to our other 3 dogs, umbrella cockatoo, 3 doves, salt tank and oohh left out the turtles.
Enjoy the girls, while they are young the years go by so fast and in the end - animals only show unconditional love and really never beg for anything other than food. So, when you think about it, the dog isn't going to ask for those TWO hundred dollar jeans or the shoes that are around a $100 a pair. So, with an animal you are fairly safe for awhile.
Wish many blessings.
