ABC Chooses Its New 'Bachelorette'

ABC has chosen it's new "Bachelorette" and just like the last several girls chosen for the show, she's a familiar face. 26-year-old DeAnna Pappas, who failed to find love on last season's "The Bachelor," is the chosen one.  Pappas made it all the way down to the final two women only to find out that Bachelor Brad Womack had rejected both she and Jenni Croft, her competition.

Why this Campbellsville, Kentucky native would put herself through this torture again, I have no idea. The last two “Bachelorette’s” both ended up single.

Jen Schefft rejected both of her suitors' marriage proposals in the show's season three finale. Season two’s Merideth Phillips got engaged to banker Ian McKee only to breakup after a year together.

Then again, the very first Bachelorette, Trista Ryan, remains the show’s only true success story -- having married her hot fireman, Ryan Sutter. The couple recently had a baby, Maxwell.

This will be the first time though that a “Bachelorette” version of the show has aired in three years. While “The Bachelor” (who has yet to be revealed) enters its 12th season in March, this will only be the fourth incarnation of the series.

So what gives? Why too is this show airing during the summer instead of during the prime spot after “Dancing with the Stars?” Is it a ratings thing? Would women rather watch women claw at each other, rather than watch one woman weed through 25 eligible men? I just don't get it.

Meanwhile, if you know any hot single guys who want to be on TV - Interested and eligible men can learn more about upcoming casting events and the application process by logging on to abc.com (keyword: casting), www.thebachelor.tv or calling 866-739-3150.

i would have much rather seen jenni as the bachelorette. this de anna chick was so horrible, boring, and a downer! jenni had personality.

Leave Brad Womack alone, at least he was honest. We would rather have him be honest than announce later that they broke up. By far the hottest bachelor ever.

Yes, Katie, I agree with you. Jenni would have been better. Deanna was mean to the other girls, self-absorbed, and was without depth. Now i have No Bachelorette to watch this year.

Deanna was down to earth. She was sweet and nice and not a Cheerleader like Jenni. She really loved Brad. I guess it didn't take Jenni too long to fine someone...was'nt it her old boyfriend...spare me,please. Deanna now gets to choose her man..good for her.
