Laughing Away With Dane Cook For Charity
(click the image to the left to view the event details!)
Since joining the board of Lollipop Theater Network a couple years ago, I have found myself getting more and more involved. Frankly, it's impossible not to when one considers the mission of Lollipop: we bring movies currently showing, and, when possible, the stars of the films, to children who are confined to the hospital. No kid should be cut off from the world his or her friends know every day, to battle illness.
The laughter and the normalcy can help a child to fight illness and stave off fear. When I think about a child laying in isolation surrounded by wires, tubes, beeping devices, it crushes me. Light, laughter, entertainment, and distractions of a childlike nature are essential. We provide that.
Back to Dane Cook and the Laugh Off this Tuesday April 8th at the Laugh Factory on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood. Dane offered to do this event. And the story goes...
I made an appearance on Fox's 'Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?'; I played for the benefit of Lollipop. In the thick of it, I had $175,000 in the bank. The mistake was going for $300,000. I did and I failed. In short, I walked away with only $25,000. But right there I said to host Jeff Foxworthy, I will make back the $150,000 I left on the table. I sent an email to friends asking if they might donate something to Lollipop. Dane Cook emailed back to me his idea of doing a stand-up benefit for us.
Thank you Dane Cook. You are an excellent man and so many families with a sick child will ultimately appreciate the funds you have already helped raise.
Some tickets are left. Not a lot, but I encourage you to call now so you can join us for a powerful night.

Hi Billy,
This is a wonderful organization. I saw you on "AYSTA5thG," and it was so much fun. (I still have it on tape! ) I'm sorry that last question got you, but I think you did a great job anyway. It is so nice that Dane Cook is doing this benefit. I would attend if it was possible (live in Canada). I do hope its a successful night for you and that it raises lots of $$'s.

How can I download your song "three wishes"? I love the lyrics and the music but cannot find it on itunes as originally promised. Can you let me know?
