A Night Of Laughs & Hanging With Bob Barker In Vegas
Last Tuesday night was a great night for Me, Dane Cook, Hollywood in general and best of all the children who benefit from the Lollipop Theater Network, where I sit on the board.
Several months ago, Dane Cook offered to headline a stand-up night for me and Lollipop after my misstep on celebrity 'Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?'. His motive was to help make back some money that I lost as a result of "going for it". A great guy. His comedy was hysterical.
Dom Irrera, Ian Edwards (a guy I had never heard before and boy was he funny) and Jeff Ross all killed it and the crowd went nuts.
Best of all, the comics were touched by the work of Lollipop and will come back again if we do it next year, especially Dane.
Thanks so much to Jamie Masada of the Laugh Factory for giving so much to us so we could pull this huge win off. Check out Lollipop's site...it'll move you.
On another note, I was in Vegas yesterday emceeing the NAB luncheon inducting Bob Barker into the hall of fame. It was a great tribute to Bob and his 50-year TV career. I was honored that Bob signed off on me as the emcee. We played Plinko on stage with some audience members...the crowd loved it. We had some big laughs.
My personal favorite moment was watching the tribute video to Bob backstage side by side with Bob before he went out on stage. It was special. Me, Bob and a TV screen. When the video touched Bob's partnership in life and in producing TV with his wife Dorothy Jo, Bob got a little emotional.
After the show, Bob spoke with me on Access about his wife and I loved him more. I love and count on my wife just the same.
Congrats to the legendary Bob Barker on an amazing career and life.
