Michael Johns Comes to Access! Organized Chaos Ensues!
You would think that other MJ - Michael Jackson - had hit the Access Hollywood stage from the organized chaos that occurred here today.
Normally, when the eliminated “Idols” come to our stage a few stragglers come into watch. This afternoon, the doors open and a stream of ladies come in and grab a seat in the bleachers. I kind of expected that. What I didn't expect was how his appearance would make our Nancy O'Dell drop everything on a Friday to be here and our producer Felidette come in on her day off for the chance to meet Michael Johns.
Even Billy Bush ran over from his radio show for a quick interview. Sorry Syesha or Kristy Lee Cook, but when your number comes up don't expect this type of greeting here.
It's not just the fact that he is cute that the ladies love. It's that he can really sing. We had mega producer David Foster here to mentor Michael and he was so impressed he asked him to take part in a charity show he is having in Las Vegas on May 23.
Foster told Michael to let go of any rock dreams and follow the pop soul route. At one point he asks him to sing in a "soft voice" and all of sudden it was like listening to a brand new singer. I got chills and so did Nancy! Foster thinks Michael should follow in the footsteps of Michael Bolton! I just don't see it, but the guy is a Grammy winner and a multi-millionaire so he must know something.
As long as Michael doesn't grow his hair long into that mullet style Bolton perfected in the early ‘90s. I do have a feeling we won't be seeing the last of this MJ.
Now you are wondering what I mean by organized chaos I'm sure. Well, basically we had less than forty minutes to get Michael on set, powdered up with makeup, interviewed on Billy's radio show, mentored by David Foster, interviewed by Nancy for our daily show as well as for him to rehearse and shoot his performance. All delicately worked out by our producer Celeste who was pulling her hair out! A few snafu's here and there (piano player Michael could not get on the lot) and it went pretty good.
So, just when we think the chaos was over, Michael heads over to the "Tonight Show" and out walks Gene Simmons wearing these crazy gray snake skin boots that only a KISS rocker can pull off.
Nancy, Celeste, myself and Felidette hide so we don't get our face licked by Gene. That's not exactly the way I want to start my weekend.
Even Billy Bush ran over from his radio show for a quick interview. Sorry Syesha or Kristy Lee Cook, but when your number comes up don't expect this type of greeting here.
YES 100000% he should NOT have been
eliminated He should have been in the top 3
My daughter and I have been a fan of Michael Johns from day one and we were devastated when he was booted off. If only we can vote from Canada,
he will stay from the very last. He's got charisma and very likeable and has an amazing voice. Too bad those voters are blinded by the "cuteness factor of some of the idols, but Im sure he will go places and couldnt wait to buy his first record. Cheer up Michael, you dont have to be the champ to succeed in this business. More power and I will miss you for the remaining of the contest.

I so get what you said about both of you getting 'chills' when Michael sang, because he gave me chills with every song he sang. Very few musicians have that sheer magnetism that Michael Johns must have been born with. Michael will be a global star.
I was completely SHOCKED when MJ was voted off!!! Syesha should've definitely been the next to go! I voted for MJ!!! He is the best male singer that was left on the show. Hopefully, within the girls, I wish for Brooke White to win!!! She is the most genuine of all the girls!!! Hopefully, it won't be one of the David's!!!!!
My heart broke and my jaw nearly hit the floor when Ryan Seacrest announced that Michael Johns was going home.
It was clearly evident that he felt totally stunned.
Good going, mate!
Hope you make it in the biz and will look for you in the record store.
Cheers!
