Soul Beach Music Festival ‘08
Every year Memorial Weekend marks the unofficial start of summer. As we pay respect to those who fought for our freedom, we can rejoice in the fact we are free to enjoy our lives because so many died to ensure it. There will be plenty of things to do, weather to enjoy, movies to see, and live music to hear.
Music Festivals are one of my favorite things about the summer. There is really nothing that can compare to listening to your favorite artist with thousands of your closest friends.
If you are a people watcher like myself, these are a haven of great material. Where else will you find some of the most liberal interpretations of style and public etiquette? That being said, the price of tickets for festivals is not going down anytime soon. Choosing the right festival and getting the most for your buck is the key.
This past Memorial Weekend I attended the Soul Beach Music Festival in Aruba. The line-up for the 3-day festival included Erykah Badu, Sean Kingston, Sinbad, Brandon T. Jackson, Ledisi, and Wyclef Jean. Aruba is about a half hour flight from South America. With the variety of artist that this festival brings in it is really a show everyone should try to attend. The beautiful local people make it very easy to enjoy the island. The Soul Beach Music Festival currently has a contract with Aruba to be there through 2010, so start saving now if you must, it’s worth it.
Lastly, I have to give a shout out to all the TV-One Access fans I met on route to and from Aruba. We really appreciate your continued support of the show. Honestly, it took me by surprise that there where that many of you. (I kid, I kid). So, since I can’t remember everyone’s names, here’s an abbreviated list so get in where you fit in: to the people at the airport counter at LAX, the people on the plane to Miami, the people in Miami, the people on the plane to Aruba, the couples who cut in front of us at customs in Aruba but turned out to be fans of the show so we let you go in front of us people, the people at the hotels in Aruba, and the people we met on the way home. Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching the show.
Peace.
Epa!! Going to Aruba and getting down on the dance floor...maybe next time tus amigos de Long Beach can come along. We are excited to read about your adventures and wishing you as always much love, success, and a lot of Fun!!
