Rose McGowan & Robert Rodriguez: Together & Ready For 'Red Sonja'
By Scott MovieMantz
If Rose McGowan and Robert Rodriguez have indeed reached splitzville, as some tabloid rags recently "reported," you couldn't tell it from their P.D.A. at the San Diego Comic Con.
Both were in town to discuss their upcoming remake of "Red Sonja," the film about the red-haired heroine who first debuted in a Marvel comic.
McGowan leaves next week for five weeks of training to play the title role, and Rodriguez will direct. The movie opens in late 2009.
McGowan claimed to be eating
a bowl of tapioca pudding when she first read the news and seemed puzzled by
it.
They're very much together, but were much more coy when asked about the remake of “Barbarella” (the original classic starred Jane Fonda).
McGowan was supposed to play the title role, but producers wanted a bigger name to justify the budget (Jessica Alba may step in).
Rodriguez said that film may still happen in some form, but Red Sonja comes first.
