Inside The Men's Gymnastics Team Finals
The Chinese are loud and proud. This guy next to me (see photo) is so loud my eardrum nearly popped a minute ago.
"China! China!"… That's how it goes... not very complex, but solid enough.
China is expected to win. Maybe I'll have a "Zelig" moment and run out there on the mat mid Chinese routine... to sacrifice for country... maybe not.
These guys all have the same bodies. It’s amazing. Stout, buff, compact. Gluteus muscles that could crack walnuts. Sorry... stream of conscience here.
Go USA!!
UPDATE: (post-competition)
The U.S. men winning bronze in Gymnastics is a huge accomplishment especially given that Paul Hamm and brother, Morgan, both had to drop out due to injury. The dominant Chinese men's team showed a lot of class in victory. When their names were called to mount the podium they first shook all the Japanese and American medalists' hands.
That was my favorite moment. It's the Olympics and everyone's watching here and abroad.
Awesome!!

What do you think about the withdraw of the Hamm brothers? What is the general response from the American public? I have not heard of any reports on the brothers, no hated mails, harass/cranky phone calls, I hope. It was so shock to me how frantic the fans reacted to the withdraw of their medal-hopeful Xiang Liu. What is your reaction to this event? Maybe it is too common in the States that nobody even cares. Look at those injured sportsmen each year! What a contrast!
Let me know how you dig it.
Enjoy your stay in Beijing.
