'The Bachelorette's' Jason Mesnick Will Be The Next 'Bachelor'
Ever since DeAnna Pappas chose 26-year-old snowboarder Jesse Csincsak over 32-year-old single daddy Jason Mesnick on the season finale of “The Bachelorette”, fans have been lobbying hard for him to become the next “Bachelor.” Well, ABC listened to the letters and hordes of emails and the fans are getting their wish. Jason will get a second chance at finding love on reality television. He has been officially chosen as the next “Bachelor.”
Unfortunately, it will be a long wait to see his journey as the thirteenth go round of the show will not return until January 2009. The good news is that since production has not begun yet this gives ladies who might be interested in meeting Jason a chance to audition for the show.
He is certainly not the typical “Bachelor.” Jason will be the first single dad to step into the choser role. He will not be the first divorcee though, as Bob Guiney was also divorced when he became "The Bachelor" in season four after he became a fan favorite during Trista Rehn's (now Sutter) "Bachelorette" stint.
Jason is a father to three-year-old son Ty, living in Seattle, Washington. It’s certainly risky for ABC to put a single father and his son out there in such a vulnerable position again but I’m hearing the show may actually film up in Seattle to not disrupt Ty’s life too much.
In a press release today ABC revealed more about Jason and his quest for love,
“Divorced two years ago, Jason would like to start another family, himself the middle son in a family of three boys. His older brother, Sean, is married with children. Jason currently lives with his younger brother, Larry, and with Ty. His parents are divorced and both are happily remarried. An account executive in estate and legacy planning, Jason is looking for a woman who has a real curiosity about the world, who loves life and can find passion in life’s smallest moments. Open and honest, the good-looking and appealing Bachelor loves a variety of sports, including swimming, golf, basketball and football. In fact he used to be a golf professional at a local club. He has traveled all over Europe and continues to pursue his desire to see the world. In his spare time, he takes guitar and swing dance lessons. Perhaps not surprisingly, Jason is a “big brother” for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America. A philanthropist himself, he hopes to some day form and run his own children’s charity.”

I am so glad that Jason is the next Bachelor. I was very disappointed that DeAnna picked Jesse instead, but life goes on and I wish them the best of luck.

What a putz... he'll run to every girl like a 32 yr old Ty (his son). Stories of body armour, talks about DeAnna all season leading up to a special apperance by DeAnna and Jesse to help him decide and you'd better believe there will be a sappy single mom. Boo, January's too soon.
What a nice young man. Life has its way of testing us. It just wasn't your time, Jason. But for a young man as nice as you, I'm sure you will find the young lady to equal your wonderful attributes. Good luck with your search, I feel life will be good to you.

i hate dianna for picking jesse the freak. she broke jasons heart and i am glad that her heart was broken on the bachelor!!!!

Good job on the show! I just can't wait for January to come. Commentors...I just don't understand why we can have a saying in people's love life. Deanna, Jason, Jessie all want to have a little fun and maybe who knows....find love. I wish D and Jessie finds true love and can't wait for Jason adventures. My fam knows not to disturb me and my cup of wine when I'll watch! This is the only thing I watch faithfully on tv.
I would love to be giventhe chance to meet Jason, I am a single mom as well, from alberta canada, i have often wondered if single parents would ever get the oppertunity to beon the show. Its great to see jason has that chance, itsgreat every one should havethe chance at agreat love.

I think it is great! I fell in love with Jason while watching the show last season. To bad I am already married or I would try to go on the show and win his heart. He is so cute and kind. I love the way he is with his son. What a good Daddy.

I am so pleased to here that he will have the chance to finally meet someone that he will be happy with. My husband and I watched the bachelorette faithfully and were so disappointed when DeAnna didn't choose him. Now she has called off her engagement with Jesse and We hope that she is kicking herself in the A$$ for not choosing Jason. It's like they say, Someone elses trash is anothers treasure!! Cant wait to see him in action!!

Jason was truly a wonderful guy! It will be exciting to watch how he makes the tough decisions that all of the bachelors and bachelorettes are faced with. Some luck lady will get a wonderful husband and a beautiful little boy in this situation!!!

I think it is great that Jason has got it going again! Of course i was very sad when DeAnna did not choose him, after all she was even introduced to little Ty. But that means it gives me a chance to try out for the bachleor and get to go up to maybe be married to Jason. and Also the mother of three year old Ty! ~ lisa
