Celebrating Success With The Cast Of '90210'

Michael Steger.jpgThe curiosity factor and the pre-show hype of Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth's return helped make the premiere of '90210' the highest rated in CW history. While another 2.1 million viewers were checking it out as it re-aired again, the cast of the show partied it up at the Nylon magazine party at the Tropicana Bar at the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel. The show has obviously already got the hip factor as even "The Hills" star Lauren Conrad attended the soiree. She told me she Tivo'd the show and had yet to watch it, so I’m guessing she just came to be seen. Paris Hilton apparently made an appearance too but I had already ditched out by then.

I did a get a chance to talk to many of the cast members from 90210 who were all absolutely beaming about how successful the show did. Personally, I thought the show needed a bit more heat and a bit more drama. So, I gave them the opportunity to convince me some scandal was coming and drop a few spoilers. Here's what I found out:

Michael Steger, who plays Navid Shirazi the head of the school's TV show, told me his character will be getting a female love interest very soon. However, It won't be any of the porn stars that work for his dad though because according to him they are like family and were his "babysitters" growing up. And we quite possibly could be getting to know more about Hannah Zuckerman Vasquez who reads the Blaze News for the school. Yes, she is the daughter of Andrea Zuckerman and Jesse Vasquez from Beverly Hills 90210. Uh, I think that was a given.

The adorable Ryan Eggold, who sadly at 24 is the old guy of the group, plays the English teacher who has got a thing for Kelly Taylor. It looks like the rumors of the love triangle building between Brenda, Kelly and Ryan are true even though in this week’s episode it hadn’t been set up. It was originally supposed to be hinted at during the scene where Ryan comes to Kelly's house. Brenda tells him "you have piercing blue eyes." The line was cut because producers couldn't decide if Ryan had blue or green eyes. A kiss with one of them (or possibly both) is coming he tells me.

Adam Gregory who plays the studly Ty Collins, the boy who swept Annie Wilson off her feet and jetted her off to San Francisco, tells me that Ty is not the person we think he is. A very, very dark side is coming out soon. Can't wait!

We'll also be seeing the dark side of Jessica Lowndes, who plays purse stealing, drug diva Adrianna. She reveals that Adrianna's drug problem will get so bad she has an overdose. She'll also be going toe to toe with Brenda in future episodes, as she will be taking over the school play.

And his last name in the show might be Evans, but Kellan Lutz who plays Lacrosse jock George says it's not out of the realm of possibility he might be related to Steve Sanders. They do look strikingly similar but I think that one is going to depend on whether or not Ian Ziering changes his mind about coming on the show.

Now here is a real life spoiler I did not expect. Two weeks ago at the 90210 premiere Shenae Grimes showed up in this beautiful long, flowy, creme colored lace dress. She looked every bit the sweet young character she plays in the show. Tonight she shows up wearing sky-high black and metal stripper heels with a snake skin strapless dress and dark smoky eye makeup. What happened to the girl next door? Apparently, Shenae is not that girl. She tells me this rocker look is much more her style. I predict if the show becomes as popular as 'Gossip Girls' a stylist will never allow her to dress like this again and one day we’ll show her this outfit as part of a fashion flashback here at Access Hollywood.

And lastly, I'm a little concerned that Anna Lynne McCord is being groomed by her publicist to act like a press shy diva. She arrived to the party, posed for photos, did one interview with Nylon and then ditched the rest of the media. This is not the behavior of the star of a brand new show. This is something you pull in season two. Her co-stars defended her by saying she is a "teddy bear" and all of this is overwhelming. I do remember her telling me at the premiere party that she didn’t enjoy the fame side of this business and she only wanted to use it to help her charitable work to end Human Trafficking. I do know she is set to film a PSA for www.endhumantrafficking.org. So, I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt that this is not just a carefully crafted fame game she and her "team" are playing.
