Fantasy Football, Anyone?
Like millions of Americans I’m hooked on fantasy football.
There’s nothing like getting ready for a draft or, if you are like me, your drafts. I currently have 5 (yes 5) teams playing in different leagues. Keeping track of my players is really not that tough, ‘cause I pretty much have every player in the league on a squad.
Last year was one of my better years, making 3 out of 4 super bowls. Now if I had only won one of them then this blog would be more about my clear superiority in the game. But since that is not the case, I digress.
This year a couple of my buddies and I joined the “WCOFF” -- the World Championship Of Fantasy Football. Team Milk Chocolate is a force to be reckoned with. The WCOFF is where the world’s best fantasy football players come to see what everyone is made of. At stake are a $300,000 dollar grand prize and the right to call yourself the champ. John Salley is also in this league and has jumped out to a great start in the celebrity league. Good thing he’s in the celebrity league and not the main event ‘cause he really didn’t want to possibly face Milk Chocolate at any point. That’s right I said it. John’s a good friend, so I have to get my shots in when I can.
Professional football players are always on the hot seat when it comes to critique from their fans. The growth of fantasy football has made it so, not only are they getting critique from the fans of their respective teams, but people who could care less about the success of those teams.
The only thing we care about is how many points did you get me in my fantasy league this week? The best is when you see one of your players out and about and you can tell them directly what they did to or for your team. ‘Cause I know these guys care about what is going on in my make believe life. These leagues put you in the mindset of an owner and pride takes over. We sometimes forget this is fantasy football, not the billion dollar game these guys play so well.
So in closing I will say this in the true spirit of fantasy football, where trash talking rules all. If you want a piece of Milk Chocolate come see us and the rest of the best at the WCOFF.
Peace
2009 - Annual Munnerlyn Family Reunion
Dear Family
For many of us summer is a time for family reunions, family vacations that celebrates life and honor family bonds. Unfortunately the Munnerlyn family hasn’t entertained a family reunion or interacted in any family bonding or traditions in several decades. It’s never to late to start traditions.
