'The Biggest Loser's' Adam and Stacey On Being Sent Home Week One
Being voted off of 'The Biggest Loser" in the very first week of the show hasn't kept married couple Adam and Stacey Capers from working towards their goal. When Adam started on the ranch he was 340 pounds. During last night's final "where are they now segment" he was at 286 pounds. Today he weighs 275 pounds. Stacey was at 221 pounds when she first started. Last night they showed her at 175 pounds. Today she is at 168 pounds!
In a conference call this morning with reporters, Adam told me he hopes to get to his goal weight of 220 for the finale. Stacey couldn't even pick a number because she said, "I have never been this small in my life. All I can do is continue to push through and see where I can get before I start looking real crazy."
In just one week on the show Stacey was able to drop 9 pounds and Adam 19 pounds. I wondered how it is possible to lose so much weight so quickly and Stacey explained.
"Initially your body, and this is what Dr. Huizenga always kind of preaches to us; your body goes through a major fluid shift when you change from being a sedentary person into a very active person. There is a lot of water weight that tends to shuffle around and then you are starting to begin that process of building muscle so that you burn fat."
To continue their weight loss goals, the Capers have hired a personal trainer three days a week and are focusing on caloric intake and outtake. Stacey says she now actually enjoys running for the first time in her life too.
"Now I can run five miles without getting winded. I used to be jealous of people running up and down my street and now I can hang with them!"
Friends and neighbors got together with the Capers to watch last night's episode. Stacey thinks the orange team (Ed and Heba) are the ones to watch, while Adam believes the pink team (Michelle and Renee) may have the edge this season.
"They seem under the radar. No one is really looking at them. They seem like a team that could sneak up and win it."
I had the pleasure of meeting Adam and Stacy on October 4th participating in the AIDS Walk DC and let me tell you they look FABULOUS!!!
It was such a thrill to meet them and they were gracious enough to let me have my picture taken with them.
I'm pulling for them to win as the At Home Biggest Losers!!
