'The Office' Spoiler: Toby Will Be Back!
When last we saw HR representative and Michael Scott nemesis, Toby Flenderson, on NBC's "The Office" he had quit his job and was heading off to Costa Rica. In the season finale we met new HR rep, Holly Flax (played by Oscar nominee Amy Ryan) who manages to charm the pants off Michael. Toby got a going away party and then - thanks to Michael - a security escort out of the building. This is not the last you will see of Toby though. In a conference call with reporters, Paul Lieberstein, who plays Toby and is also a writer on the show, revealed why he'll return and where the idea for Toby's Costa Rican journey transpired,
"What brings him back is failure to escape. There was a friend of mine, who is actually one of the writers here, who decided to [maybe about ten years ago] collect enough money to live poor in Hawaii. He was gonna just do it and surf, because he loved to surf, and he had made a big deal out of it – he had a little going away party and he was back in two weeks. He was lonely, nobody talked to him, he was robbed on the beach and that was it. So, that was our model for Toby’s success."
Paul wouldn't reveal what exactly happens when Toby comes to take his job back from Holly but he did have some other future "Office" gossip.
Jim and Pam will be thrown a relationship obstacle as Pam heads off to New York City for an internship and they attempt a long distance romance.
After being arrested on charges of fraud, Ryan's downward spiral will be short-lived according to Paul.
"He’ll spring back up in a way that I think is typical for people who can spin anything."
Paul says the newly engaged Angela and Andy may or not make it to the altar this season. "They make it to an altar of sorts, but probably not what you were thinking or the way you were thinking. There is a lot of fun coming."
The writers haven't yet decided if they will reveal a father for Jan's baby or not - but there will be a baby shower thrown for her.
Future episodes this season include a robbery in the office, an ethics-training seminar and a Halloween themed show.
Holly and Michael will embark on some type of office romance according to Amy Ryan.
“With Michael and Holly -- I think that it gives us all hope that there is a lid for every pot, or, I like to say there is a lid for every cracked pot. So everyone has a chance at some form of love. I think she is, uh, slightly odd but she’s just really playful and she finds him funny and so that unleashes her sense of humor."
"The Office" season five premieres on NBC September 25th!

Joy...
I'm rewatching last season...I can't wait!
"but their will be a baby shower thrown for her."
Your spellchecker works but the proofreader fell asleep.
In the sentence "...who manages to charm the pants of Michael", the word should be "off", not "of".
And in "...but their will be a baby shower thrown for her", it should be "there", not "their".
I'm not trying to nit-pick. I just figured you'd like to know.
I've said it before i'll say it again. It's an entertainment BLOG. You're lucky its not written on my blackberry in between shoots and uploaded right from their, there, they're. I'm proud of the C minus I got in fifth grade. I am NOT smarter than a fifth grader. So, don't hold me to such a high standard. If I were a journalist then yes, I should be fired.

I love when people try to excuse away their English ineptitude. Such a high standard? Seriously? Way to go! You write for a blog and can't spell!
I love people who will publicly criticize others. I guess it just makes them feel better about themselves. That's too bad that some of you, Justin, don't have a higher standard as well. I suppose you have never made a mistake in your life. It must be nice to be so perfect. By the way, Justin, Laura WRITES a blog, not FOR a blog. DUH!
I'm sorry, but grammar nazi, you don't make any sense.....plus, nazi for your name...really?
We're all fans of The Office.....I love that show...
