'American Idol' Top 11 Recap - John Mayer Style
I didn't make it to the taping of "American Idol" this week.
Instead, I went to see Taylor Hicks in "Grease." In the interest of time I've decided to take a page from John Mayer's Twitter assignment this week to his followers. Tell a story in six words...
Michael Sarver - Country's his thing. Garth is not.
Allison Iraheta - A song I can relate to.
Kris Allen - He's definitely feeling the love tonight.
Lil Rounds - A disaster from the very start.
Adam Lambert -Loved or hated. Confused. Nah. Loved.
Scott MacIntyre - Lose the piano. Keep the hair.
Alexis Grace - Totally disagree, judges. She was great.
Danny Gokey - It sounded okey gokey to me!
Anoop Desai - Oh wait, he actually can sing.
Megan Joy - Why is Simon giving the finger?
Matt Giraud - Keep the piano. Show more personality.
Tough week to call on elimination. I'm gonna go with Scott MacIntyre simply because of the tour issue.
And to gain a little perspective from an older generation I asked my mom what she had to say about tonight's show. I figured Adam she would hate. I was right. Her comments made me laugh especially the one about hoping Megan doesn't get me sick!
Sandy's Take: On the whole, I thought most of them were good tonight. My top picks are Kris Allen, Danny Gokey, Scott MacIntyre, Lil Rounds and Matt Giraud. I was surprised with Anoop, who I thought should have been voted off last week. But he did a great job and picked a great song. I don't think Alexis Grace is that good, just another pretty face with not too much personality. And I agreed with Simon about Michael Sarver - I couldn't understand the words. I don't really like Allison Iraheta - she shouts her songs and she needs to do something with that hair. The judges love Megan Joy, but I don't think she was that great. I know she has the flu and still sang, and hopefully you don't catch it when you interview her. I think they are taken with her because of her looks and sexy dress. The only one left is Adam Lambert who I thought was absolutely awful. He is definitely weird and really messed up his song. It sounded more like a terrible rock song than a country song. And what is with the nail polish? Is he trying to be like that weird Boy George, or whatever his name is?

I disagree with you. I thought Adam and Megan were the stand-outs last night. They're both very original and pulled it off well. They have a talent to twist their songs around and put their own touch on it. Absolutely LOVE both of them.
I totally disagree to opinion in this article. Adam's voice is the best compared to the other contestants. He's definitely an entertainer whom people pay attention to, not an easy listening singer who you hear while reading the newspaper. Every person who hates his performance is a bunch of traditional moron. Like they've been living in a box for years. Has the crisis switched off their taste of music?
