Dogging 'The Bachelor'
Pitiful. Pit-i-ful. P.I.T.I.F.U.L. Ugh!
Some kind of way I got sucked into watching "The Bachelor" and the thing is, I ENJOYED it.
I consider myself a strong woman. Empowered. High self-esteem. So, the whole notion of 25 women flying thousands of miles to all live in one house together, begging some strange guy that they have never met before to please, PLEASE, PLEEEEZZZ give me freaking flower so I can feel good about myself is, well, it's just a foreign concept to me.
But there I was, curled up in front of the television wondering, wagering who it was gonna be. Which gal would get the rose and Jason's proposal?
I figured it would be Melissa because he kept saying things were so easy with her and really seemed to be the most comfortable with the idea of being with her the rest of his life.
Didn't I know that's what they WANTED me to think?
Yeah, so he picked her and then he dumped her. You would have thought I was watching an alien landing in my backyard. I was just riveted to this unbelievably cruel breakup on TV.
When that cad Jason was explaining to poor Melissa that "things have been different since the show ended," (huh? ya, think?) I wanted to throw Snowflake's chew toy at the screen.
And then there's the AFTER the show-show.
The gals from Access Hollywood and I ordered pizza and gathered for another round of Jason's weeping -- he's cried so many times I have lost count. I'm sure his little son Ty wants to knock him in the noggin and say, "snap out of it!"
The girls and I were wondering if there was going to be
another bombshell on this finale of the finale -- like Molly coming
to her senses and telling Jason to go jump in the lake. Or maybe Jason telling
Molly he was dumping her for Chris, the handsome host of the show.
But, alas,
there was not another bombshell, no surprise make-ups and break-ups, just
Molly, happy as a lark because "he wants me, me, me!" and Jason so
filled with glee because one of the women waited ever-so-patiently for him
through all his indecision.
Snowflake, go fetch that chew toy.
Hi Shaun,
I share your sentiments about the show, even though I like to root for the underdog and chose Molly. I still found it skeptical, to say the least, that this young professional woman would give him another shot & so quickly. If they were not communicating behind Melissa's back, my name is "Boo Boo". Anyway, I'm glad it is over and although I am aware that they have already selected the 2009 Bachelorette; I have just started a campaign for The Bachelorette 2010. If you get a chance to check it out, pls give me your opinion. Thanks a bunch and keep up the great journalism! http://whatwomenwantandneed.blogspot.com/2009/03/30-women-and-americans-in-general-need.html
The entire concept is flawed. The fact so many seemingly great, successful people are willing to subject themselves to such blatant humiliation, shows just what a drag dating is!
I too feel that I am a strong, empowered woman. So I watch to see women with obvious low self-esteem grovel and beg for alone time with an obvious narcissist. It amuses me and makes me feel better about myself and my own boring life. No matter how dull and mundane my life or how bad my love choices, at least no man has ever demeaned me in front of millions of people AND THEN chased after another woman 2 minutes later as if the relationship had meant nothing at all. I am only amazed that after all the abuse, there are STILL women lining up to apply for a spot on these shows. Shows you that we sisters still have a LONG way to go.
Hi Shaun!
I am all the way with you girl. And also to say with Melissa being my favorite, if it had been the other way around I don't think Melissa would have takin' him back so easily as Molly had.
Hi Shaun,
Girl I feel the same way you and your friends do. I loved the vid of your viewing party. I was saying the same stuff as I was watching. You will probably love this site I found its HILARIOUS. http://TheBachelorSucks.com
You are ALL off the mark.
these girls are not on the show to find a mate, fall in love, or have the fairy tale.
They are on because they want to BE ON TV!!!! Its as simple as that.
Can you imagine the kick they get when they see their names all over?? They WANT TO BE ON TV!! PERIOD!!
It's all about being on tv. I would hope that everyone realizes that reality tv, isn't actually all that real. There's scripted parts and the producers have free reign over the show. This isn't the first reality show we've seen this Melissa or whatever her name is on. And I find is quite sad that people are more about this, than what's going on in the world.
The appology tour is because of his web site. No one wants to trust him after he treated badly to a very nice lady. THEN chooses another lady. This shows no integerity, ethics, cold eyes, lack of caring for another human. The "father looking for love" wasn't what he worth the 6 weeks! Our hearts went to the lady who was shamed by the brutel behavior of this guy. My male friends even thought that this was over the top of crule behavior. Wow, they got it also.
This had to be the worse Bachelor show ever. As for Deanna coming back to let him know he had a chance..well..a serious lack of intelligence there and then there is this so called bachelor Jason..a sleazy guy who kisses everyone and everything pretty much on tv. God help us if they bring anymore low class guys like him on the show if they ever want to recover a audience, as for Molly, well no accounting for taste girl..you lose on all counts. I guess you could say they both deserve eachother.
Dear Shuana,
I totally agree with everything you are saying. I got sucked into watching, what I swore I would never watch again after the firestone girl did her thing. I thought now here is a nice guy. And I thought Mellisa was the best. What a creepy thing to do on national tv. Integrety, please ,it would have taken more integrety to tell ABC he wouldn't humiliate someone he proposed to on national tv. She was great the way she handeled it. Jason I hope you teach your son better.
Shaun,
I don't agree with you one bit that Jason is Pit-i-ful. P.I.T.I.F.U.L. Ugh!
It's funny how no sooner then all the drama and name calling (especially from you) ends, does the truth about Melissa really come's out.
How is it that a girl who was sooooo In Love with Jason and ready to be his wife and step-mother to Ty already has a boyfriend? Ya, poor ole Melissa.
Not to mention for a girl who didn't want to be infront of the camera's anymore, she surely has been on every talk show since and now DWS.
Sorry, to say but watching you and hearing you slam Jason was pretty Pit-i-ful. P.I.T.I.F.U.L. Ugh! Especially, since Melissa has proven she's only in it for the publicity too.
If you ever have time to re-watch the Bachelor after the final rose, pay close attention to Erica (the one on the show who claimed she was an angel and not a backstabber, but once again proved otherwise). If I didn't know better from the hatred in her eyes, voice and body language, I'd think you two were twins.
I'd hate to see how your going to act if she eventually gets voted off from DWS.
P.S. You need to take some lesson from Mario Lopez about manners. Funny how no matter how he felt about the whole Bachelor show he never degrated anyone, he just told the story and kept his opinions to himself and let the audience and other people give there feelings.
Oh Puuuhlease!! You got "sucked in" to watching it? Right! you watched it for the same reason everyone esle watched it! it's good entertainment! You were hoping ...like the rest of us ... that true love would shine and they "all lived happily ever after"! Dear ... if you lsitened to the post interviews, you would know that EVERYONE involved agreed to have the relationship totally filmed..also Jason had broken up with melissa BEFORE the show aired and she AGREED to do it on camera! Lord girl... you sure have alot of free time to be watching prime time TV ...for a strong confident woman, I don't see men beating down your door hun!
thats all BULL Melisa are related to Jason or Molly or did you even watch the show he sucks and she sucks they truly deserve each other
