Idol Recap: Top 36 Week Three
By far this week had the most talented group of Top 36 performers. It's tough to call just which three will be voted through. For once, I have nothing mean to say about anyone's clothes!
Von Smith - He started off the show off on a high note. He sounded a bit rough off the top in the lower range but then he sounded great. If the little girls loved Kris Allen, I think they will enjoy look-alike Von.
Taylor Vaifanua - It's never good if you start crying at the end of your own performance before the judges give you a critique. It's good news for Ryan Seacrest though that she won't be making it into the top 12 since she towers over him!
Alex Wagner-Trugman - The voice definitely does not match the body. Cute kid. Cute personality. I thought he was entertaining. The judges ripping him did not help his case.
Arianna Afsar - How adorable is she?! I wish she had a better performance. It was kind of all over the place. I hate to say this, but Meryl Streep (who is not even a singer) sounded better when she sang it in "Mamma Mia!" I love ABBA though so let's hope for more of their songs on the show.
Ju'not Joyner - Snooze.
Kristen McNamara - Her karaoke performer side definitely came across here. Does anyone else think she looks like a perfect cross between Jaime Pressley and Tricia Yearwood?
Nathaniel Marshall - He'll be great singing at a NYC club in Chelsea one day.
Felicia Barton - So, they let this girl go and let Tatiana in the top 36? Insane. She was fantastic. Looks beautiful. A star. I liked Joanna Pacitti but if someone was going to take her place, this is the girl. Unfortunately, I don't she is going to get enough votes tonight to send her through. Wildcard round is most likely in her future.
Scott MacIntyre - How can you not love Scott, who is legally blind? I think he is better with his piano though. He definitely seemed uncomfortable up there alone.
Kendall Beard - Martina McBride is my favorite female country singer. She is no Martina. Did she just sing "gwirls?" You just know the country folk are going to vote for her though and she might just surprise us by making top 12.
Jorge Nunez - He sounded really good but I would love for him to have sung a Spanish song. Apparently, the judges would have too!
Lil Rounds - Well the producers have smartly been putting the best singer in the pimp spot (the final singer). Clearly, these are the singers they feel deserve a spot in the Top 12. I think the trend will continue and she'll sail into the Top 12 like Danny Gokey and Adam Lambert did in the past two weeks
Prediction: Von Smith, Scott MacIntyre, Lil Rounds
Wildcard: Felicia Barton, Jorge Nunez, Alexander Wagner-Trugman, Kendall Beard
