Fans React To Paula Abdul Possibly Leaving 'Idol'
After a story broke in the LA Times over the weekend that Paula Abdul may not return to "American Idol" because contract negotations are not going her way, I wanted to know what the fans thought of her possibly not returning to the show. So, this morning I put a call out to the Twitterverse to let us know - in 140 characters or less of course, why they don't want Paula Abdul to leave. The comments are fantastic and so I thought I would share them with everyone.
@SG_Glamberts - Paula needs to stay.. she makes Simon tolerable! Pls send our love to her - Luv fr Singapore!

@teamaims - to be honest, I love Paula and want her to come back but only if she stops play favorites (i.e. "calling" danny & adam as final2)
@Glambert9997 - Paula should def. stay because it wouldn't be the same without her. Simon is the mean one, Paula's the sweet one, Randy's...the cool one, and she fits in so perfectly, and she's as sooo many fans who love her on the show.
@PastaBaby - the contestants need paula to keep some sense of dignity. otherwise it would just be a meanfest.
@mistymanda2 - idol would be boring without Paula and people forget shes a great judge 2 who is Right about the kids way more often than simon
@vanessa_texas - I will not watch Idol without Paula. She makes that show entertaining, interesting, and charming. she also has gr8 track record

It won't be the same show withou Paula. She gives it heart.
Paula is the reason many of us watch American Idol. She truly is the heart and soul of the show. No Paula - No Idol.
The most unique thing about PAULA is that she is the only person on the planet that fascinates Simon. Just watch him. Everything she does/says fascinates him. He ADORES her and would be so bored without her ... the entire show would be boring without her.
Paula may have her shortcomings, but idol would not be the same without her.
I'm not a fan of Kara's, but ever since she's been on the show, Paula has actually been making constructive criticism.
It's the beginning of Idol's downfall. Idol has gone on longer than producers ever thought it would, and now, change is inevitable. If Paula really leaves, she will certainly be missed, and the dynamics of Idol will change, forever. Paula will forever be "America's Idol Sweetheart."
This is too bad, because I feel like Paula represents the kinder side of the show. She supports causes that are helping people. I don't know if this is the end of AI, though-- hopefully in the future they'll do more shows focusing on special humanitarian causes, like those that fight global hunger.

Paula was the second best judge for the sole reason that she has some semblance of a personality... now the show is going to be even more dependent on Simon
