Meet The 'More To Love' Bachelor: Luke Conley

IMG_1436.JPGIf you have been watching FOX primetime recently than you have certainly see the promos for their new reality show, "More To Love." Twenty plus-size women compete for the love of one plus-size man. When the show was first announced it sparked a bit of a controversy since FOX in the past has done some questionable reality dating shows (Who Wants To Marry A Millionaire, Mr. Personality, The Littlest Groom). Plus, its from "The Bachelor" creator Mike Fleiss and we all know the track record that show has with finding love matches. However, I recently had the chance to meet this show's Bachelor, 26-year-old Luke Conley who assured me that finding love is his only goal and that the producers are sincere in their approach.

DOS: Tell us about yourself.
LUKE:  I'm 26 years old I'm from the Bay area, California. Right now I live in Santa Barbara county because I was going to school there. I ended up buying some property and starting a business. I'm a subcontractor. So I do like interior finishes, remodels that type of thing. I'm the outdoorsman type. I love to do anything at the beach. I love to take my puppies for runs. I played college football. I've traveled around the world. So, I really feel like that I'm ready to settle down.

DOS: What was your first thought when heard the title of the show?
LUKE: I thought it might have been a joke.

DOS:  And what did you find out?
LUKE: I found out that it was a serious show. They're really hoping that two people could fall in love.

DOS - Were you concerned at all it was going to be cruel?
LUKE:  Initially I was. I think maybe calling it "More To Love" is a bit of a cliché but at the same time I think people are ready for something like this. I think people want to see normal people that like eating cheeseburgers and ice cream, that they fall in love too. Everybody has insecurities. Everybody you know has those things about their body that they don't like but I think that the the idea of this show is that 'hey lets move past that.' Who you are is not what your body looks like. Who you are is your experiences. What's on your heart, your goals, your dreams your passions.

DOS: There is no twist coming in where they are going to have all these plus sized women and then all of a sudden they are going to bring in any skinny bitches?
LUKE:  I hope their aren't any twists because I have been enjoying it so far. The girls are amazing. I'm really attracted to all of them and I'm just ready to go forward with the way it is.

DOS: How did you actually find out about the show?
LUKE: I was on Craigslist. I felt like perusing and click on the TV/Film ad. It said they're looking for a brawny man that can handle curvy, voluptuous women. I shot em a quick funny email. Threw in a couple of photos and they got back to me the next day.

DOS:  Tell me what is Luke's type?
LUKE: Luke's type is a woman that definitely is confident. I definitely have always been attracted to a woman that you know is voluptuous and curvy. I always like to say if she has got a big behind she is a friend of mine!

DOS: So are you looking for a wife or are you looking for a relationship? What do you hope to do? LUKE:  My ultimate goal is to find a wife, a woman that I can connect with on a deep level that I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I can spend the rest of my life with her.

DOS: In the end are you going to get down on one knee?
LUKE: If I feel that deep connection I would have no qualms about getting engaged to a woman on the show.

"More To Love" premieres on FOX Tuesday, July 28th.

If Luke is reading this, you seem like a nice guy and all, but please stop with the sexist BS of calling these women "girls". They are NOT 14-year-olds! Please acknowledge the fact that they are grown women, even though, unfortunately, they tend to act like little girls.

Dear Luke ,

I would like to say i really enjoy your show not many women get to meet a nice person like you and to make them feel like a beautiful princess they are. no matter what size you are we all are beautiful, some may disagree but they are just shallow minded. Im writting you in hope that you will check out my profile on myspace it tells all about me and check out my pictures too,im intrested in you and think its very admirable that you love plus size women and are not afraid to say so, but if you have allready made up your mind about who you want i respect that but if you don't please give anouther a chance for me to meet you on your next season which i am hoping on,or if you have a friend thats is as proud and feels the same about plus size women pls introduce me i hope this gets to you and like i said you can look me up at myspace under my email. thank you sincerly yours Jessica....

Meeting the right person does not take a TV reality show to assist in the process. Take the time to talk with a person and get to know them. On-line dating can be great if you know how to carry on a conversation. I met my husband on bbwharmony 3 years ago...and it was talking that made us connect. And guess what there are men all over the world that appreciate a plus size women. Both of us are comfortable with who we are and we know what we want in life. So for all those out there that think they can never find love because of how they look...wake up and feel confident with yourself and go after what you want. I did and will be celebrating 3 years of happiness.

Hi Luke,, I do hope very much that you are able to find the woman of your dreams and yes I totally agree its about time that society realize that not all women are a perfect size 6 and that we do fall in love and we want all the things other women want a man to love us treasure us and just grow old with as cliche" as it seems, its so true. Just becuz we have a little more cushion all over doesnt mean our hearts dont feel the same passion and same hurts. So darlin find that special girl look into her eyes if you can see into her eyes and are a
ble to see her soul she's the one hon ...

take care and lifes blessings,,,Sandy Mathews

PS attention if more men realized just how special our kind is there would be less of a divorce rate and more husbands coming hom at the end of the day hell for that matter at noon during their breaks,,,just to spend precious passionate minutes with their Plus Sized Women,,,,take notice guys,, and see what Luke will be gettin we are out there just look for us...

Is Luke an alcoholic? He always has a drink in his hand. Who would really want to be with someone who drinks this much; he seems to have problems with it.

He comes across as self confident and nice but what's with calling those women "girls?" That in itself makes him sound very sexist and immature.

Dear Luke,

I just wanted to leave a comment and let you know that my kids and I are fans of the show and we think that you are a great guy. My kids are 12 and 8 and watch the show with me every week. It's actually showing my son that woman are beautiful no matter what their size is and I like that. You are an amazing person with a cute and mischievious, almost child-like, smile that can definately melt hearts. Good for you for showing the world that you don't have to be "Barbie" to matter. I wish there were more guys out there like you. Good luck in your search and be careful with your heart...we love ya and are rooting for you...:)

So... I really wanted Luke to be with Heather, but for whatever reason he didn't pick her, even though they were super cute together. I think she only lost her confidence in how their relationship was progressing bc she wasn't used to dating him on a group date and because she really cared about him and naturally was getting jealous.
Then I wanted him to pick the model girl, oops "woman", because I thought they had some genuine fun together, which I thought was also true with Heather, but whatever they are both gone.
So now I want him to pick Tali because she is beautiful, smart, respectful towards the other girls, fun, caring, educated, down to earth, and genuine. Really really hoping he picks her.
If not then I clearly do not know his type or what he is into based on this show because not a huge fan of Melissa and Luke together, or Mandy and Luke together.
Luke seems like an amazing catch and I wish I had been one of those girls on the show to meet him and get a chance to marry him if we ended up being a good match (God knows I am ready to get married to an amazing guy) however since I am not on the show and will likely never meet Luke, all I really hope is that he ends up with the right girl and if she isn't right then that he keep on looking.

At first thought, the show was a good idea for large size women to finally have a chance at love themselves after having to watch show after show with size 5 women trying to catch a man. But then after hearing all of the sad dating stories from most of these large women, 19 of them were going to once again be heartbroken.

And now--seeing Luke pick his final 3----why did he get rid of all of the larger size women????? If he likes them large, why did he not keep them? The final 3 and now the final two are not as large as most of the other women.

It seems that Luke simply likes a woman with a little extra flesh on her bones and not alot of extra flesh!!!

Sher said:

I have to disagree with some of what is being said. I dont see Luke as being sexist because he calls the "women" "girls." Political Correctness should not even enter in to it. As for his three, I think we all might have chosen differently, but then we arent there and dont know what went on when cameras were not on.

And as for Luke, Baby if you dont find what you are looking for, come to VA and I will show you what a real woman acts and looks like.

Jan said:

Luke is a fool if he thinks love will conquer all. Being with Tali will be a road with nothing but heartache...

I just wanted to say that I thought the show was wonderful. It wasn't your typical reality dating show where every woman was super thin & cosmetically enhanced. I watched the show faithfully with my husband because it was a breath of fresh air on television. I have gained weight in the past few years & have really struggled with how it has affected my life. When I go to the gym now, it's extremely intimidating and you can't help but wonder, when someone looks your way, just what are they thinking or saying about you. This show has helped to restore my faith that there are still people out there that can see beyond the exterior & into a person's heart and soul. I just wanted to say thank you to Luke & to all the contestants for taking a chance & putting your hearts out there in front of millions of viewers & even though you might not realize it, touching so many viewers lives in positive ways. Thanks again & good luck!
